Orto Parisi Risvelium

After all that!? This perfume was quite a surprise when I first smelled it. After almost three months (?) Of a deeply mysterious ad campaign centered around coral reefs, jungles, monkeys, and eyes, we now have this. The opening is dominated by one thing: bitter grapefruit. I smelled a little bit of pine, and I suspect that has to do with the lemon note listed. This lingers for a long while, and I barely got any blackcurrant, maybe a bit, but it really isn't much at all. There is a hefty portion of ambroxan in this perfume, which shows it's face after a little while with a light amount of pineapple. Remember, the grapefruit is still here. As it continues to dry down, I get a mix of some coniferous type wood, like cedar or hinoki? Along with of course, the ambroxan, the now dying off grapefruit and as much isobutyl as would normally be expected from Gualtieri. Friend of mine mentioned a bitter vegetative like scent, which I kinda agree with. After all this, I have a few things to say. Is this bad in any way. No, absolutely not at all. Is this the least interesting and in all honesty most disappointing scent among orto parisi's collection? I'd have to say yes. Risvelium to me has become the magnum opus in proving how imaging, presentation, and strong prior expectation can completely override one's interpretation of a sense, like taste, sight, hearing, and in this case specifically, smell.
